Fibre-reinforced composite bridges are a cost effective short term solution when a person has a single missing front tooth. Only certain cases are applicable and we will advise on this when you come in for a consultation.
A fibre-reinforced composite bridge is attached to the teeth on either side of an empty space and does not need to be removed at night.
This makes it an excellent alternative to false teeth or dentures which need to be removed at night. The tooth is built up with composite filling material and placed over a framework that is made from fibre.
Interesting fact: This same fibre is used in the manufacturing of bullet proof vests! It is a strong material and can withstand quite a bit of force. However, we advise patients to use the bridge with caution and care.
With good care and oral hygiene, these bridges can last for many years.
